Tenyaku Temple And Photography Event

I went to Tenyaku temple in Nara prefecture with a couple of my mushroom hunting club's members on April 21st, and they were treated their sick by the Buddhist priest. Actually, one of them is hard of hearing , and it would be getting wrong more and more. So he must always wear a hearing aid, but it has be working not so long. They sometimes renew a new hearing aid , and it is so expensive, which cost about 700 thousand yen!!

They were worried about it for a long time, so I introduce the priest who is also healer. Many of people doesn't believe healer's power itself. However I believe it and they also believe it. If they don't believe it, I would never introduce them into him.

His treatment has 2 ways. Firstly is incantation and prayer, which he is only praying for patient about 30 minutes. Secondly is using Sui-dama which was invented in China long time ago. He treat to use it, and as soon as the blood flow of the patient become more clean and flowing smooth.

It was called Sui-Dama in Japan.

After the treatment, we went to another place , where takes about 20 minutes by car, to help a photography event which my teacher of the camera was planning. There was a big old cherry blossom , about 500 years old, in near his villa. He had wanted to take photos under the tree for a long time, and he executed his plan on that day.

The Event was large-scale, it was executed in the twilight time, so we brought a lot of the equipment of the photographing, especially many lights in order to light up the tree. We spent a lot of time to bring it and to set lights.

In a main event, a dancer who made original dance was dancing, and a photographer took many photos as the collaboration of old cherry blossom and dancing. There was a fantastic space like ancient Japanese story.

During the event there were a lot of audience around us, and the event will be broadcast on a local cable TV. Preparing the event was very hard, and time was too short ... but we were satisfied to finish it .
Actually, on that day weather news said it would be raining after noon. So we prayed to my god not to be raining so hard, as a result it was sometimes fine and sometimes a bit rain.

A Mother's Job

I went out with a Canadian friend the other day, and he told me an interesting story about something his wife did.

I know that many of you are mothers, so I am interested to hear what you think about this.

My friend's daughter is nine, and she came home from school one day and told her mother that she had homework to do.

Her mother asked her later, "Have you done your homework?" Her daughter said, "No, I'll do it tomorrow." The next day, she still hadn't done it, so her mother asked her again.

Again, the daughter made some excuse.

This went on for a few days, and my friend said he was very surprised that his wife never actually said to the girl "Do your homework."

After about a week, the teacher was still asking about the homework, and the daughter realized that she was going to get into trouble, so she started panicking.

My friend said he was very impressed at how his wife just let their daughter make her own mistakes so that she could learn from them.

This story reminded me of a very different story told to me by another friend.

This other friend had a son who was in high school.

My friend was American, and he was shocked to find that his wife was checking their son's schedule and packing his school bag for him every day.

His wife said, "But if I don't do it, he will forget something, and he'll get in trouble."

My friend said, "Yes, and he will learn from that."

I guess she felt that her job as a mother was to stop her child making mistakes, whereas my friend wanted his son to make mistakes and learn from them.

What do you think? Is a good mother one who stops her child making mistakes, or is it one who allows the child to make mistakes and learn from them?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

  2. I'm surprised AKB48 is popular in Taiwan now . Why were they known by Taiwan's people?
  3. I prepare some lens of camera to take mushroom photos tomorrow. The main lens is standard 35mm lens which is very bright.
